Pink Floyd, and the character Pink by extension, equates his fame and stardom to that of a fascist dictator because his fans blindly follow whatever he tells them, while at the same time, pointing out how alone and isolated he feels. It’s a commentary on music fan idolatry and how rabid people become, such as with Beatlemania.
Brilliant film when you can finally piece together and make sense of the massive amount of symbolism throughout it.
