The case also argues that the Doge access violates federal administrative law and the US constitution’s separation of powers doctrine.

It also accuses the treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, of changing the department’s longstanding policy for protecting sensitive personally identifiable information and financial information to allow Musk’s Doge team access to its payment systems.

    As a minimum, this will slow down the biggest data breach in US history.

    In the best case, those who organized the data breach could find themselves facing some charges.

        I’m here and can’t figure out how this is a win if they still have read only access. They still attached a server and can download the data and recreate it using coding.

        Yes. They’ve likely already downloaded everything. But the main concern from my perspective was them having continued access and essentially being able to hold our government hostage, so this order at least pulls their access from the live system.

        As far as I know (I’m also on the EU side of the pond) - they are now obligated to delete anything they downloaded.
