We didn’t let my daughter play with Barbies because the message used to be basically the same as the Kardashians (Be rich, Beautiful, and get a man). Weird how the movie basically changed the whole paradigm.
Yeah to an extent. The movie addresses that actually. Still has an overall message that Barbie is for girls first and not dependent on men or being a homemaker.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the message of the movie. It’s great, but Barbies past was never about female empowerment
