Summary

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed Elon Musk’s personal insults but expressed deep concern over Musk’s public endorsement of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

The AfD, monitored for ties to right-wing extremism, supports pro-Russia policies and weakening transatlantic alliances.

Musk’s endorsement, published in a German newspaper, sparked backlash, including the resignation of the paper’s opinion editor.

Scholz, facing a February election after his coalition government collapsed, criticized Musk’s interference, as AfD gains popularity despite other parties refusing to cooperate with them.

Insults are like whiskey, they only affect one if one partakes of them. Backing the AfD, with the resources he can bring could topple a government. Just look at the US, we’re teetering.
