My wife gifted me a tie dyed King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard T shirt I’ve been wanting for Christmas. It’s hand dyed and screen printed by fan that runs a small online shop. 10/10 he does great work, would recommend

    80% wool boot socks.

Yes, my feet are freezing all the time these days and these help a lot. Good quality wool is so good to me.

A $35 New Balance winter jacket at Marshalls. We have mild winters so an actual winter jacket is useful for like 2-3 days a year, so I don’t really need to invest in an expensive one. I do need it when traveling, and it’s pretty good quality.

Wife got me a heated vest that connects to a portable power bank - it’s got a v-neck so it completely disappears under my scrubs.

The OR is fucking cold most of the time, so I use that thing all the time.

I can even change the heat level or turn it on/off by pushing the buttons through a surgical gown, so I can stay the perfect amount of toasty without breaking sterility!

Scrub shirt with a cute floral pattern, and some plain scrub pants.

Abso-fucking-lutely recommend. Light weight, breathable, easy to clean, comfy as hell, cheap at overstock shops.

Big fan of Patagonia stuff recently, particularly their flannel shirts and t-shirts (the capilene ones particularly). Did an order a couple of weeks ago with a few more

I got a selection of hand dyed tie dye socks from my spouse, she’s an expert at tie dye so they look amazing and the color choices are great!

I also got these amazing boots! They’re comfortable, look great, and are really well made for the price. They’re sort of replacing a pair I got more than 5 years ago that I still wear daily in that these match my warm tone pants better than the bluegrey swade that my others are.

The last piece I received was a hand knitted hat from my sister. I love it.

Last thing I bought was probably a dress from a thrift store. Would totally recommend thrifting, depending on availability in the area.

Picked up five(!) clothing packages today. I’m systematically downsizing/upgrading my wardrobe for the first time (at 40+ and a stable-ish size). Actually had a couple of meetings with a stylist and all (which I would recommend, mine was excellent even when I told her I wasn’t going to do some of the things she thought were important).

    • used dark green/orange/white pattern shibori scarf, gorgeous, love it, recommend
    • used dark green european-style (rounded corners) thick wool shawl(?)/long shoulder wrap, gorgeous, perfect for autum or layering, recommend
    • used colorful viscose scarf, brand name, kind of disappointing, too thick for summer and too bright for any other season, not recommended
    • dark turquoise alpaca cardigan, gods that was expensive, gods that’s gorgeous, recommended depending what your priorities are
    • grey alpaca knit skirt, knit skirts are a new thing for me so we’ll see, recommended based on your style and priorities
    • a small haul from a basic clothing store, of basic cotton, cotton/viscose, or viscose/polyamide based tunics and pants, unfortunately the fits were off, keeping just one set of pants but trying another size of a tunic, not recommended :/

In general it’s probably all up to your personality/style, shape, and colours.

A Svaha dress (it was on clearance) and some thrift store jeans. 10/10 for both.

Although I prefer thrifting my office work clothes, I no longer have my own vehicle and the small town I live in has abysmal public transit. So I ordered myself the following items from Giant Tiger:

    1. A boxy, off-white, short-sleeve, viscose button-up shirt. Probably my favorite item from this order. It’s very comfortable and it flirts with the trendy crop-top style while still being entirely appropriate for the office.

    2. A long, dark green, lightweight open blazer. This was the most disappointing item. Anything “long” looks frumpy on my stocky build, but I hoped this would be different because of the light fabric… Nope. To make things worse, the fabric is incredibly prone to wrinkling. I basically have to launder this after each wear, boo (normally I try to wash less often to decrease the wear on the fabric).

    3. Two printed, polyester V-neck blouses, one off-white and one taupe, with buttons and chest pocket details. These are ok. The fabric is softer than I expected, and drapes beautifully, but the cut is a tad too long and loose on me. So I need to either tuck them into my regular office pants, or wear them loose over tight pants (which apparently is a very outdated millenial look).

    4. Another printed polyester blouse, this one with dolman sleeves, with a brown and white floral pattern. I love it because dolman tops look fabulous on me and the colors suit me perfectly. I don’t care much for the fake button details on the waist though, and I will probably take them out before I wear it again (hopefully not damaging the fabric in the process!)
