That is every bit as dumb as someone saying “no, I wasn’t buying drugs! I only traded money for a hug, then got an eight ball for free!”

This is how you buy weed in DC…

Edit: No seriously, look it up. You can’t legally sell weed in DC the but you can possess. So the shops sell you $70 socks and then gift you devil’s lettuce.

There was that King of the Hill episode with the failing bookstore converted to a gun store, didn’t have a license to actually sell guns so they started saying something like “Free gun with $600 book purchase” or something along those lines which I assume would be illegal real world, but worked in show

I remember banks giving away hunting rifles when you open an account with a certain minimum balance as interest on a CD.

I bought my girlfriend’s train tickets to see me because she was broke. Am I a pimp?

Edit: I dunno. I had the wrong words.

In other posts including screenshots from from depositions, Gaetz boasted that a woman he is alleged to have trafficked and had sex with while she was 17 replied “No. I wouldn’t say that,” after being asked if “anybody trafficked” her, and submitted that what he did was “clearly not prostitution under any conceivable definition.”

Guess what, whether the witness (victim?) was trafficked for sex is not the witness’ (victim’s?) decision to make, because she is not a judge.

He can say as much as he wants on Twitter or a blog or TV or wherever. Nobody is stopping him from “setting the record straight”.

Of course he could catch a defamation charge if he pulls a Trump. Gotta watch out for that one. Better yet, watch out for the teenagers, and stop having sex with them.
