    What did I just watch?

    No, really…

I have no idea. Was it a trailer for hentai? Several chicks were flirting with a dude but then… oh my god: a dude with chainsaw-arms riding a six-eyed shark on the wall of a skyscraper? An angel and a samurai fighting a blood-puking capitalist pig? Explosions?

    What. The. Heck.

      That’s a legit question.

It’s an OVA film for an anime series (not hentai) about the spirits of things that people fear (like chainsaws, sharks and capitalism) being able to possess/inhabit human beings and turn them into crazy looking monsters (ala Spider-Man’s Venom) as the action calls for it. The possesion-for-battle trope is pretty hot in anime right now (see Dan Da Dan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju #7, etc).

I considered whether to even post this one as it seems to break the trailer format a bit, forgoing the preview of what story is being told and instead just presenting some contextual clues that existing fans will recognize and a ton of mind boggling editing. The trailer for Mononoke the movie was very similar (and, coincidentally, one of the most gruelingly frenetic movies I’ve seen in a long time, and not in an enjoyable way).

So it’s a TV show movie. The creators may have decided to disregard the interest of non-fans when they put this together, which really makes it borderline of-interest to a general audience. In the end, it does legitimately look neat, so I figured why not?
