For those that were around during the previous New Year, you may remember the massive “stop being shut-ins and start being normal” concern trolling thread that blew up around that time.

It seems “taking precautions against covid or even being anxious or sad or angry about covid makes you weak” posting is back in vogue because of federated liberal exposure.

I’m calling it now. That shit’s going to get radioactive by late December and the treat-brained liberals are going to concern troll hard and maybe even drive some Hexbears to quit entirely.

I want to be wrong, but that Appeal To Normalcy grillman ableistic concern trolling shit happened before federating and I don’t see what would stop it from happening again.

“stop being shut-ins and start being normal” concern trolling thread that blew up around that time.

Not to mention those thread(s) were incredibly toxic towards neurodivergent and poor comrades who don’t have the luxury to afford being “normal”.

      Absolutely.

The way it was phrased from the start was that ultra-toxic hustlegrind style "I love you all, but…" format, too. The kind that pretends it’s love to bully people. And some mysterious alt accounts showed up to call people “shut-ins” for like a full day afterward. I still feel disgust at the “touch grass” thought terminating cliche because of that, no matter how it’s used. debord-tired

I wore a mask for the first time in a while the other day, for a dr appointment, just because they asked in the confirmation email.

I had to search for one leftover. I always hated masks because I’m incredibly sweaty and after an hour or two condensation is collecting on my mustache, but I’m gonna start looking around for masks to buy just in case.
