Summary

Albania has announced a one-year ban on TikTok following the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy last month, linked to social media disputes.

Local media reported the stabbing followed arguments between the boys on social media, with TikTok videos emerging that appeared to support the killing.

The ban, part of a broader effort to make schools safer, was decided after consultations with parents and teachers.

Similar restrictions have been enacted in countries like France and Australia. The ban will take effect early next year. TikTok has not yet commented.

Man, pretty impressive that TikTok managed to stab a kid, last I checked it didn’t have any hands or a way to even hold a knife

Also imagine being implicated in the death of a child and getting off with a year of consequences, grow some balls Albania, start subpoenaing TikTok execs qnd lining them up against the wall

I’m mainly riffing on the post title attributing the stabbing to TikTok, TikTok didn’t stab the kid, some other human being did, it would be like saying the Ford motor company drove into a parade
