but did they move the marker 52.8 feet closer to marker 419 so it’s accurate?
Yes
The solution came with some out-of-the-DOT-box thinking: They shifted the spot by a hundredth of a mile, and turned Mile 420 into Mile 419.99.
I’d love to find out if it worked, because I think having a Mile 419.99 sign is way funnier than just 420
Where I went to college, they had extra screws attaching the number plate for dorm 420 to the door. And I grew up on Mile 69 of a local highway. That sign was also stolen frequently
This arguably encourages stealing more due to the novelty
Our state (MT) painted it on the shoulder of the interstate instead of having the sign for that one. Same thing with the “406” mile marker sign. Both would get stolen a lot.
I’m disappointed the 404s haven’t been disappearing. They ought to be unfindable.
Whats with 406?
The entire state’s area code.
Why do they keep on stealing 420? I am European so I don’t know if there is something specific about this number.
Surprised the 404 marker doesn’t also keep disappearing.
420 is the weed number, don’t exactly know why it is so now we know the same amount about it.
some day revered by weed smokers. forget why. try wikipedia
