Surprised lemmy.ml hasn’t defederated that instance, given the massive amount of brigading, racism and blatant misinformation that their users encourage.

lemmy.world, while much saner, does have its drawbacks. Anyone know of any similar instances that I can join?

What would be similar to world? It’s the largest instance. There’s nothing similar/close.

I’m not referring to the size of the instance. but the instances that are federated/defederated with it. Like how lemmy.world moderates to keep the troll instances such as hexbear out of the local threads

It is so obviously a troll instance that I have a hard time assuming that your question is not in bad faith

Haven’t bothered looking at it. All I’ve seen from comments is it’s a bunch of people confused about their gender and they hate “libs”.

their they/them tags are a blatant mockery of trans people. they’re nothing more than a nuisance and are best contained in their echo chamber, where they can do whatever it is they do but to each other

I don’t know if this is satire or not… But just incase it isn’t: no, they aren’t pro trans or pro lgbtq. They purposely pick those pronouns and go around to post racist stuff, bigotry, chinese propoganda and all the accompanying junk. Typical online terrorism.

And I haven’t see any racist and bigoted posts from Hexbear users. Care to supply proof?

Here’s an image of their Code of Conduct, to which the first two rules are litterally:

                    • We are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, or other similar characteristic.
                    • Do not use homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, ableist, and other reactionary aliases or other nicknames. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudice.

So, unless you’d like to supply some proof, from my own anecdotal and hard evidence, they seem to support the LGBTQ community and use pronouns to show respect.

Weird. Maybe they themselves have defederated from my instance as I never see any of their posts.

It’s not, it’s a 3-year-old instance that is a leftist umbrella community that aligns closely with left unity, socialism, and communism. They are very anti-capitalist, pro-lgbtq (why they have pronouns with their names), and they don’t have a downvote button.

They say “shitposting is a culture here”, but they mostly leave it to their own communities. They have been defederated until recently, so it’s just recently become a hot-button issue. .world defederated, my instance (Midwest.social) did not. I don’t mind them. And, like .ml or lemmynsfw, if I did I would block them myself.
