To believe that this election echoes the Jim Crow era is to believe the DNC & MSNBC crowd’s argument that Harris lost the election because of the basket of deplorables’ racism and misogyny. Not to say that those are not factors at all, because racism & misogyny definitely are still a thing; they always have been. But this argument conveniently distracts from the Democratic party’s own causes for their failures.

The Democrats fail because they’ve embraced grinding neoliberalism for an entire generation, because they abandoned the working class long ago. The DNC crushed Sanders—twice—because even a little social safety net, as a treat, is a bridge too far for them.

Damn, this hits so fucking hard. It’s just a hard truth. Put simply and straightforward, in a way that’s inarguable.

the bigger danger is being co-opted by people & groups with more political clout, but have that shallow understanding that MLK jr. wrote about; like the dnc’s failed attempt to use project 2025 as distraction from the gazan genocide.

it’s particularly heinous when lgbtq groups espouse cohesion, but only have token representation from the last 2 letters at best and frequently forget that the non-white & non-wealthy peers have other stressors that often supersedes their lgbtq identities at crucial moments like the election.

    Everybody calm down!

What are a few decimated scapegoat minorities and a strip-mined ruin of a planet as long as the economy is fine, eh? I repeat: The ultra rich oligarchs’ unlimited access to regular people’s money is not in danger. In fact, the rich will probably be allowed to drain every last drop out of their victims now even more than ever during this administration. Time to rejoice! For some anyway!

Maybe unrelated, but the US isn’t a country, its a fucking continent by European standards. I never understand why the progressive states don’t just split off and form their own union, and leave the regressive states in the USA.

If you’re not being represented properly, maybe it’s time to split.

(Yes Brexit was a mistake, but e.g. Scottish independence would have been interesting)
