Phoenix-based ebike maker Lectric reckons that last year’s XPedition model went on to become the best-selling cargo ebike in the US. Now the company has launched its second generation ??? sporting “premium features typically found in $3,000+ models” but at a fraction of that kind of price tag.

are those range estimates at full 450lbs load, or are they unloaded with a 90lbs rider?
My understanding is that range estimates are based on 150lb rider, flat ground, lowest assist setting. Ebike standards are pretty Wild West right now though, so that’s worth a fart in a hurricane.
Yeah, I figured it’d be bullshit.
Especially with it being a “Cargo” bike. the range estimates are pretty much worthless for a dedicated cargo thing, if the range estimates are made under ideal conditions with no cargo.
I have an Aventon abound cargo bike, and I’m about 220 riding weight. On 2nd level assist (of four levels) which is where I ride 99% of the time, I get about 30 miles. Fairly flat terrain. I also ride on the fast side and I’m in decent mountain biking shape - that definitely matters, I almost never touch the throttle.
Most cargo I’ve had on it was around 150lb. No idea what the range reduction would have been but the bike handled just fine.
Cargo bikes have cargo capacity so you can bring spare batteries if you need more range, unlike an electric car.
You can do that with any bike as long as you have racks/bags, whatever to carry them
