In wicked evil communist north korea, papers that are critical of a local small business kulak get raided by the police as punishment for speaking truth to power
What has remained unreported until now is that, prior to the raids, the newspaper had been actively investigating Gideon Cody, Chief of Police for the city of Marion. They’d received multiple tips alleging he’d retired from his previous job to avoid demotion and punishment over alleged sexual misconduct charges.
I feel so free!
Makes sense. I love democracy
Nothing to see here folks, this is just an investment in democracy!
I’m glad news orgs are out there writing strongly worded letters, so i don’t have to.
The Newspaper is gonna take them to court but like, the fact that the raid can happen and the only recourse is after the fact, potentially years later, is a joke

I mean - they absolutely probably did die from the stress. Imagine a bunch of pigs come into your home and take your computer/router with no justification or otherwise, while also just completely ruining/throwing everything else onto the floor. I’d bet most people, even those who are aware of their ‘rights’ (lol) or certain of their innocence, would be stressed out from that. Then imagine you hear that the building your newspaper runs out of was also raided & had stuff confiscated. You’re up all night talking to people, calling lawyers, trying to clean up the mess the cops made in your house. That stress just builds all day. At 98??
What are we, the UK???
In Communist China etc. etc.
