We’ll likely have a mass of people voting to get rid of Trump’s chaos for anyone else, and the Dems will receive a boost. Then, when they run the same milquetoast candidate 4 years later with nothing to offer but “better than the alternative,” they’ll fail again.
It’s basically the same back and forth pendulum as before, but accelerated. Now incumbents can’t even expect to receive all 8 years before the pendulum shifts.
