Israel has accused Hezbollah of keeping hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold in a bunker under a hospital in the southern suburbs of Beirut, though it said it would not strike the complex.
The Sahel hospital in Dahiyeh was evacuated shortly afterwards, and Fadi Alame, its director, told Reuters that the allegations were untrue.
Israel did not provide evidence for its claim that cash was being kept under the hospital. Instead, it published an animated graphic that purported to show a bunker under the hospital and said it had previously been used to hide the former secretary general of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.
Remember when they bothered to pretend that Hamas was blowing up their own hospitals because it would obviously be a war crime to target hospitals? I remember that.
Remember how that false narrative was believed by virtually every mainstream liberal and the only countervailing voices were the usual (left / local) sources that continue to be dismissed by mainstream liberals?
They also claimed Hamas was beheading babies. Still waiting on that evidence.

In fairness, IIRC that was an American media lie to onboard the public. All I’ve heard from Israel about it was along the lines of “We don’t know about it, we don’t doubt it could have happened and we won’t investigate.”
It came from IDF propagandists that gave statements to reporters who then repeated it without question. It was repeated and amplified by the White House and eventually Genocide Joe.
