Do they think that eventually they’ll reach an Arcane Judge who will acknowledge that they’ve cracked the code and can go on about their business, unlike the rest of us suckers who don’t know the right incantations?

Literally yes.
They think they can exploit the legal system in such a way that they get all the legal protecions, but none of the responsibility or liability.
They want to legally drive on roads they don’t pay for while obeying none of the laws, all without insurance or any legal liability to other drivers.
They want us to be their suckers.
They think the world runs on clever wordplay rather than soft power that is backed by hard power.
This is what gets me the most about SovCits.
You don’t like the state’s monopoly on violence and don’t feel like you shouldn’t have to follow rules you didn’t agree to? Sure, that makes sense.
But thinking there are magic words that will make the state give up it’s ability to do violence and let you do whatever you want… that’s just crazy.
