We got a very different type of fishing this time, so I’m curious if we’ll end up seeing a bunch by the end. I remember someone in the first episode with a fly fishing reel so we might see some of that eventually, though our hero is by no means ready for that level of difficulty, lol.

Cleaning fish isn’t something I’m really able to do (I’m pretty sensitive to gore and skinning a raw chicken is about my limit), but the casualness our little fishing club had was pretty true to life - most anglers I know think very little of the process.

Another episode that is mostly focused on fishing with only some hints at backstory. We managed to get a job despite our best efforts this episode, and we seemed to make some friends. So, things are looking up a little bit. We might be homeless, mired in crippling debt, and have a terminal disease; but silver linings and all that.

So, our MC has tons of student debt and has a sore back? Finally an anime MC I can relate to @rikka@ani.social

Also, I laughed at the bit about how to prepare fish that you have caught. The first time anybody sees fish preparation, their reaction is always priceless, so it was nice to see this bit make it into the show. I learned it a bit differently, but I always cut filets rather than whole fish that get grilled.

Finally, just an aside that I cannot believe that there are really waterparks out there that become artificial fishing ponds in the off season. The two environments are just too different. If there is such a place, I would be fascinated how they do the swap.
