Lack of hair makes it more realistic. Hair has always been difficult to recreate in art.
Notice how there are no eyebrows or eyelashes either.
Those black ridges over the eyes kind of give the illusion of eyelashes with eyeliner though
It really is fantastic, I thought it was a re-enactor or the like from the thumbnail. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any ancient statue like it.
