Board of Directors shocked, absolutely shocked, that they were supposed to be directing the company. When reached for comment several wealthy looking people were seen with dictionaries in hand looking up the word “director” looking absolutely aghast
Ubisoft might have to get used to not owning high value stock, if they keep pushing through anti-consumer bullshit in their games.
My BIL is absolutely convinced that Ubisofts woes are entirely because of Yasuke and not at all related to anticonsumer BS and tired reskinned copy pasted games.
I never really bought a lot of Ubisoft games because of their poor practices and buggy games, but the thing that pushed me over the edge never to buy from them again was with Anno 1404.
They took Anno 1404, made a few tweaks (the largest of which was some higher resolution support iirc), and released it as a new game, Anno 1404 history edition. They then delisted the original game on steam and made the two incompatible for multiplayer.
So if I wanted to play a game I already own with a friend who didn’t own it before they delisted it, I would have to buy the game a second time. It would only be $15 to buy it, but it was a massive “fuck you” to everyone who owned the game
That’s the company leading the “fuck you, you can’t own the game we charge you top dollar for” charge, right?
Wasn’t Rockstar riding that train first, though? How many games has Ubisoft produced since GTAV released, I wonder…
