Tune in at 9am CDT/10am EST to watch the first day of Quake Con Finals!
The competitions continues on the 11th and 12th where the eventual 2023 Champion will be crowned
Will be streamed on https://www.twitch.tv/quake and https://www.youtube.com/@Quake
If you aren’t familiar with QuakeChampions, it’s a free to play PC shooter and, in my opinion, the current best fps Esport on the market.
Dang, for a second there I thought it was gonna be Q3A. :(
I love Quake and have for years but it’s definitely sad to see how barren the franchise has become and the ways that QuakeCon has changed from what it once was
Hoping this a fun watch though!
Honestly I’m surprised that Quake still has an active playerbase!
Fair, it’s small but you can get games every day and the community is quite close-knit compared to other games.
For me, once I played QC other shooters kinda felt inferior, so I stick with it despite the smaller playerbase
Do you prefer it to older champion-less Quake games? And what do you think it would take for this brand of FPS to have mainstream appeal again, if anything, given that others have tried to bring them back with little success?
I had a Q3 server running for a while that I’d hop in and out of. It was funny knowing that it had bots on it just endlessly fighting each other. I miss the Instagib and Urban Terror days.
Urban Terror is still very active!
I need to check it out! I don’t think I can keep up these days but I played the hell out of it back in the day.
For a minute I thought this was the championship of Quake World.
Dude I was just thinking the same thing like HOLY SHIT! But I’ll watch Q:C too. :)
Haha sorry for the confusion, QWorld superstar Toxjc is still playing tho :)
