Yeah I often joke that natives are the black people of Canada, but it’s sad there’s still so much injustice for natives here in Canada. My best friend was killed by a truck driver while he was trying to ride his bike to work in the morning and they never even charged the guy, as far as I know he’s still driving around. Burying him was more painful than having a kidney stone and the fact that he won’t see justice because he’s native and cops don’t care is just salt on the wound.
The Canadian justice system is notoriously lenient and also incredibly slow.
We have a dude who cut off and ate part of someone’s head on a greyhound bus… who’s been released to general population with only medication stipulations
