The content appearing on the “timeline” was primarily related to ancient history and culture with a slight European leaning. That slight European leaning was evident from the conception of the investigation, however, because searching “ancient history” as a starting point yielded results primarily concerned with Greco-Roman history.

Does anybody have suggestions to improve my East Asian and particularly Chinese history? I made a list of familiar overlapping contemporaries as far back as I could a while a go, and the main thing I learned is that I have a massive blindspot there. I barely squeaked through the mid 1100’s and crapped out at Sappho or Ashurbanipal, but if I knew who the fuck “Xi of Zhou” or “Qinzong of Song” was I could have done better.

Luckily, the algorithm doesn’t rule Lemmy, and Lemmy is pretty left-wing in general. Always good to stay alert, though. Fuck chuds trying to claim history for their own purposes.

I guess they can have Sparta. Sparta was pretty chuddy.

And it sits in ruins, while Athens is a global city to this day, which seems pretty typical for the chuddy places of history.
