I think she was the awful human being, and you didn’t owe your parents shit, especially toxic ones. Just because your parents brought you into the world (without your consent) doesn’t mean you have to put up with them. I say this as someone who has a good relationship with my parents, and have a kid, who I hope will want me in their life when they grow up.
