I’d like to get a Bambu Labs A1 with the AMS but I’ll want a sturdy surface to put it on. I’m shopping around for tables with drawers and I’d like to know how big it needs to be. There are dimensions for the printer itself but it’s hard to know how much more space I need to accommodate the AMS.
It’s a mess. I have the A1 with AMS and it takes way more space than I wanted. The coreX with AMS are way more compact.
Edit.
Wide 80cm (with the poop chute on the left and the AMS on the right) Depth 70cm (with all the cables and the bed going back and forth) Height 60cm with the top rollIt needs 70 cm of depth?! Damn, I don’t have room for that. I’ll have to rethink this.
The bed goes back and forth. On the back, you need the place since there is the infamous cable that should not be torn. On the front, the bed can go over the void. There is no need for a 70 cm large table, maybe 50cm with overhang.
I understand the mechanics, I just didn’t consider the clearance needed to accommodate the moving bed. I don’t want to burden you with a task, but I’m planning to put this in my small office which already has a lot of shit in it and I want to be sure. Can you tell me how much clearance I’d need behind the static footprint? Like if I get a table deep enough to fit the base, I’ll want to consider how far from the wall it’ll need to be.
I just measured it and the overhang behind is half the bed and half the infamous cable. You need around 60cm between the front feet and the wall behind, for the cable not to be torn when the bed is all the way to the back.
22 cm wide? This graphic for the A1 Mini says the whole setup is 60 cm. Minus the 38 cm mini would mean it’s 22 yeah?
According to the specs the dimensions are 397x208x342 mm, so 22cm wide seems ok.
You can also mount the AMS on the top bar of the A1
That sound like it would wobble and easily tip over, no?
I top-mounted it to my A1-mini and it does just fine. I’d imagine the full A1 should be alright.
It’s a wobbly affair but it does work and Bambu does offer it as an option with a mounting bracket you can print. I… just put my AMS to the side because my table is already kinda scuffed :D
