Since the API change RiF was still usable in logged-out mode, however, it’s now consistently not loading posts anymore. They recently updated the “logged-out user experience” (see link below), which may have also been used to finally kill any RiF stragglers.

Good news is that Sync for Lemmy just released so the transition on mobile is finally easy!

Yeah, I just noticed this today. Yesterday, it was still working while logged out, then it stopped, then it worked for a while again, and now… RIP RiF.

Also posting from Sync for Lemmy. This app is the shit!

Right! I mean, I was using Sync on Reddit and when the Lemmy one came out I was pleasantly surprised they were pretty much identical! Immediately, bought the ads free version too!

I’ve become more active in lemmy because of it

Heyyy another Sync for Lemmy brother!

But for awareness, for those wanting to try Sync for Lemmy. It does contain ads. SfL offers a few things (all below removes the tracker): Monthly for Ultra ($3) Annual for Ultra ($17) Lifetime for Ultra ($110) Ad Free no Ultra and permanent ($20)

I highly suggest anyone use the multitude of free and pretty good apps (Infinite, Wefwef, etc)…

Here’s a temporary workaround for anyone wanting to continue using RIF or any other third-party Reddit clients. I say temporary because Reddit could break the functionality at any given moment.

    Guide

I think so. I was still using RIF to view reddit results from google for some time, and now it just gets 403s. I guess the final nail in the coffin for my use of reddit has been hammered in. Patching with Vanced is a bridge too far, for me. I already have enough of a maintenance burden working around the ad-infested cesspool that is the modern internet.
