After they had been stripped from the BBG, they had been listed as vacant but now with the new champions being crowned last night, the ROH Trios titles are no longer listed on the website. With them being unified with AEW’s belts, it looks like AEW’s will indeed be the sole trios belts going forward and ROH’s retired.
Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of trios belts myself. I don’t hate multi-person matches or anything. 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6 and bigger have been staples of pro wrestling for decades to this day, but making 3v3 its own division has always been ‘eh’ to me as a whole.
2v2 having belts makes sense to me, beyond that it’s like “well why do trios have belts, why can’t you make 5 man tag belts and do a whole faction then?”, like where’s the cutoff before it’s a silly amount of belts?
That being said if we have to have a set of trios belts for a trios division, with the size and interoperability of AEW-ROH: 1 set is the way to go for sure.
@GeekFTW i would do it this way : dont have trios belts but make the normal tagbelts freebird rule…so if a faction holds them everyone can defend them…
Would work well.
