Who else can related to Makoto hiding her femme stuff from curiously nosy parents?

🖐️😩
This whole anime is calling me out.
I spent most of my life not knowing who I was because I was hyper vigilant of the people around me and kept adjusting my personality to be “socially acceptable.”
This is how you punish honesty. I am unfortunately really good at lying, but it’s still exhausting. I just can’t comprehend why people can’t just let people be “weird.” Why is conformity such a big deal anyway. Who gives a shit.
This anime may have gotten me a little worked up with unpleasant memories. Still, it’s cute and I love it and I want moar.
Taiga Ryuji is the most blatant Toradora reference out there. And when he actually saw Makoto in a dress, he’s like “daga, otoko da”

Done!
I’ve been trying to figure out what I think is going on with Makoto’s gender, and after this episode I’m pretty solidly convinced she’s a trans girl. It’s hard to read her getting that excited by getting hit on in the street as anything other than gender euphoria.
I really hope the ball goes well, and the fallout from The Handkerchief Incident isn’t too bad, but I’m scared for our poor girl T_T
