“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” continued to dominate, as “Haunted Mansion” tried to break through without the promotional help of its stars, who are on strike.
It was ok. It had character building that was a bit long and dull, but the good parts were really pretty good. The one thing that did strike me as weird was it couldn’t decide if it was a movie for kids or not. There were a few ghost scenes that seemed too intense for children and some of the character building I mentioned would bore a child to death and also be above their heads. On the other hand, a good portion of the ghost scenes were just good fun. It was confusing.
I rode Haunted Mansion recently and really enjoyed it, it had lots of elements that seem like they’d work well in film - shame it was kinda wasted. I wouldn’t mind a kids movie or an adult movie but that no-man’s-land between them can be painful. I might give it a shot just out of curiosity when it comes to d+, thanks for giving your thoughts.
Good cast in a bad movie is rarely worth it. So many movies with an all star cast end up being duds.
Anyway, I might watch it on Disney+ if i ever run out of things to watch, but generslly this whole making a big budget movie out of a ride concept is so dumb.

I would agree if it wasn’t for Pirates of the Caribbean lol. But yeah I’m with you, definitely not a theater-worthy movie, maybe I’ll give it a shot when it’s on d+. Sometimes star-studded duds can be fun to analyze if nothing else.
We went to see it last night and had a good time. It’s no classic, but there are several funny moments. It has some pretty big issues in general though. I will say that this movie made me feel like it could be something good in the right hands, these just weren’t the right hands.
Anyone seen this one? The cast makes me interested despite the reviews.

I’d give it 3.5/5.

Unpopular opinion, I thought the first Piratrs was okay. Don’t think I made it through the second, and didnt watch any others.

That’s the impression I’ve been getting from what I hear of it, it’s really too bad. Glad you had an alright time with it at least.
I walked out after an hour after realizing the movie had another hour to go.
Great cast. Bad writing. The movie felt like a slog.
