      The whole article is about how the current regime has mismanaged the situation (more or less correct), so in your analogy they would be the arsonists.

          I’m not saying the GOP is good, nor is the first woman in the interview, but you’re making it sound like there’s a good and a bad option here, and that’s not what I’d say the article claims.
