Milky Way at Nauset Light. Photocomposite of 15 1-second exposures shot over 30 seconds, largely an experiment to recreate a shot I did a few years ago and to see how hard I can push my tools.

Amazing that photo was even attempted - how can the tools, that the photographer refers to, capture the faint light of the Milky Way and not be overwhelmed by the light house? It’s the exact opposite of dark skies!
If I had to guess I would say that he was doing a lot of work in the compositing. The night sky exposure was probably mostly from a shot where the light was shining completely the opposite direction so is not to overexpose the sky. That is just a guess though. It is from Mastodon so theoretically you can post a follow-up question to him.
