How do you shave your balls? Every time I’ve tried with my trimmer it pinches and tears my sack and I’m too traumatized to try it again unless there’s a full proof bloodless method. Usually I just pluck as many as I can tolerate while I’m sitting around watching YouTube or somethin. But it’s such a pain (literally). Pic unrelated

I’ve done them with a straight razor and it all comes down to technique and sharp blades. Sharp blades are most likely to cut hair than skin on a flat surface. Make sure to either use a new blade or strop your SR

Firstly cook your nuts, really steam your boys. You want them very warm and relaxed so you can gently pinch, stretch and wrap the loose skin around your finger. At that point it becomes much more accessible. I recommend doing this sitting. If using a straight razor use a steep, less aggressive angle.

For weed wacking around a post, pull it tight and if its too slippery, use a single slip of toilet paper to hold on. Once everything is in tension you may tread carefully with your razor(s). You may need to pull it in many directions to reach every spot.

That will get 50-70% of hair. For the rest I recommend squatting over a mirror. Again, make sure to pull everything in tension before hand and get everything very hot and steamy. Pubes are like spaghetti, they’re softer when cooked.

I have created the perfect cicle, I use the same razor but I have separate blades, one for my face and on for genitals. New blades are dangerous for the balls so whenever I change my face blade, the used one becomes my new balls razor. It works pretty good. Trimmer on the balls is a dangerous game unless you buy one of those machines that are actually made for that.

I second using the safe razor, albeit I would recommend using different ones for face and balls. The reason is that I assume that an ideal and universal razor may not exist, the ones I tried are usually either better suited for the body, or more comfortable to apply to the face, that is if we exclude those that are equally bad for everything.

Regarding the dulling of the blade, it may greatly depend on the brand and quality, so some experiments are required ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You have a few options but there is no perfect solution, all have trade-offs.

    • Trimmer with skin safe guard. That’s your trimmer but with a bit of plastic to stop nicking the skin. Doesn’t trim that close, takes a long time and generally not the best result, but better than nothing and pretty safe. That’s basically what manscaped sell, but don’t buy it, it’s overpriced.

    • A Good Razor. Basically just use a good cartridge razor of whatever brand you like (but not the disposable single use ones, they are hell, I usually use Gillette Fusion) some even have special intimate razor lines that are allegedly better but I didn’t see much difference. This is probably best for the clean shave, does take some agility and practice to do safely but is quick and easy when you get used to it. Bigger con of this approach is it will get a bit tender and prickly after a few days, but that also depends on your hair type. Usually this is my go to.

    • Hair Removal Cream. Good for reaching spots that are otherwise hard to shave and lasts a bit longer than a razor but also has a few negatives. First of all, it STINKS, might no be an issue but worth noting. Additionally, it might not be suitable for you as it literally dissolves hair, so is pretty rough on the skin and can even cause a chemical burn if left for too long. There are intimate area variations but obviously they are less effective. Also depending how hairy your legs are, it can be tricky to not get any on there and be left with clumps of half dissolved hair on your hamstrings. I used Nads before and had good results.

    • Laser hair removal. Best in class, but is expensive, requires multiple visits and top ups (but the hair stays off longer and grows back thinner after each time). Haven’t tried myself but know a few folks who swear by it. I think you can get a home kit but I wouldn’t advise it as it’s fairly dangerous and you don’t want a laser burn down there, still with professional services.

    • Wax. Better results than the first two options but the pain is unreal, not worth it IMO.

Don’t forget epilators! (For legs etc.). Also have the pain issue, but it does reduce after a few goes at it

Oh yeah, and the hairs have a lot deeper roots. More for the general discussion of leg hair etc.

I used to shave, you can do it often and avoid regrowth hell. Recently I started getting waxed, shaft, balls, butt. Really worth it, smooth for weeks, I love it, women love it.

Yes it’s painful at the time but not so much that you are tender walking to your car afterwards, it’s a stinging pain and then it’s done.

Plus you get the fun of trying to have a normal conversation about upcoming holidays with a woman who is pouring hot wax on your junk, an experience I would recommend to anyone who hates small talk.

I don’t have nuts so I don’t really have a say in this but you could never get me to put Nair in the more sensitive parts of my genitalia. Ball skin is so thin and sensitive, I can’t imagine that burn.

Not much to share, I only did it once.

Just made sure the skin is stretched where shaving, and that was it. No cuts.
But I don’t plan on trying again. The first 2 days were fine. Nice breeze. But then the stubble feels awful. It’s like wearing underwear with coarse sandpaper, or better yet, steel brushes. Every, single, step,…

Considering that nobody sees it anyway, I am not trying again.

    Good luck to you though.

My brother did it once and ended up in hospital because he got a infection from a wound. Swore to never do it again and he complained for weeks of being in pain.

I’ve used a safety razor whilst sat in the bath before and it gets great results. Don’t forget to make sure to tense the skin to get a flat surface to shave down or the results could be horrific.

I don’t have a bath anymore so now I use Veet Men Intimate Hair Removal from Amazon - https://amzn.eu/d/5yPVyqb

    Works pretty well.

I don’t have that much experience, but your trimmer shouldn’t pinch. Troubleshooting possibilities:

    • Oil trimmer blades
    • Get new trimmer blades
    • Get a new trimmer

I actually found a normal razor to work better than a trimmer.

Also… try getting a stiffie during the process so your nutsack tightens up, makes it easier.

I trim things with an electric trimmer, but to actually shave I use a double edged razor. Some people are scared of them, and even a lot of the people who use them on their face are scared to shave their pubes with them. It’s really not that hard though. I also don’t see why you’d want more blades (which I think every disposable is like 5+), because that means if you fuck up and move your blade sideways your cut will be that many times worse.

The key thing, and this applies to all methods, is you have to keep the skin taut. You have to pull the skin that is being shaved, not just drag a blade across the loose skin. If you don’t, you’ll likely cut yourself. Along with applying to all blades, this applies to all skin also.

I’ve shaved my balls for decades at this point. Take a good hot shower for at least 10 minutes, or even better soak in a hot tub for 30-60 minutes. This softens the hair. Shampoo is the best shaving cream as it doesn’t dull the razor blades as much as actual shaving cream. I pull the skin tight and go one pass with the grain, and one pass against. As others have said, that is delicate skin, and it cuts easily, so be careful. Personally I have yet to get better results with any of the various razors I’ve tried, so I just stick with my Mach 3

You shouldn’t need to shave in multiple directions… Each bit of skin has 1 ideal direction to shave it, unless your hair grows in a spiral or something.

I won’t downvote you, but if you are only shaving in one direction, you either aren’t getting totally smooth, or you are needlessly torturing yourself by only shaving against the grain of your hair.

From experience, your beard, or any other patch of body hair, can literally grow in multiple different directions in the same patch. Regardless, the only way you can get baby smooth is to shave against the grain, which I really don’t recommend as your first pass, unless you shave literally every day, and for some guys it would be twice a day.

I can’t shave more frequently than once every 2 days. The USN literally gave me a “shaving chit” for that in boot.

Plus it irritates the skin less cause you only really need 1-2 passes (shaving with those multi blade razors takes ages and 3-5 passes in my experience if the hair is anything beyond 1 mm long). Remember to rinse the blade every 1-2 passes too.

I have experienced the trimmer nicks as well, maybe a shaver would be better than a trimmer.

But i just use a razor now, either a multi-blade men’s razor or women’s body hair razors. Also i use conditioner instead of shaving foam, works just as well and easier to see what I’m doing.

Yeah OP please use a razor? Razors are made for shaving, trimmers are for trimming.

Actual tips for shaving I can give you:

      • Stretch the skin a little with your free hand to make sure you have a smooth surface (helps you not cut into the skin) (unless you have perfectly smooth non wrinkled balls)
      • As with any body hair I’d recommend trimming before shaving so the hairs are shorter and easier to shave
      • In the same vein, frequent shaving helps keep the hairs short and makes shaving easier
      • As someone else said it might be nice to use conditioner instead of shaving cream. Personally I never use shaving cream anyway because it doesn’t help me at all lol. It anything make sure your skin is hydrated, it’ll make shaving a lot smoother
  • Sack trimming is what ultimately converted me from electric trimmers to safety razors. Night and day. Even if I nick myself, the closest thing to a problem is NOT pain.
