Debating online is largely pointless, only use it has is to convince the lurker and even then Im doubtful about the effectiveness of even that. I only do it to blow off steam tbh
There was a post about this on the Dutch socialist sub as well. I replied with a somewhat cynical comment on the war and a few people came out calling me an imperialist. Some other guy stood by my side and said that this isn’t imperialism and that he should read Lenin’s work.
The response was: ‘No, I’m not going to read a book!’
After that you just stop bothering to be honest. It is pointless indeed.
Time is wasted on the Dutch “socialist” subreddit anyway. Ultra and leftcom moderators regularly remove articles about Holodomor and China there. They are not very fond of ML’s
Luckily there is a recent influx of MLs on the sub and I hope they can convince the lurkers there
