Welcome to Welcoming Wednesday! This is a day all about helping new people start to use the engine!
Feel free to post resources to help people start using it and if you’re new feel free to post questions, etc. and things that you’re struggling with
For folks with Unity exp -> https://youtu.be/toE-YUqEdA8
For more advanced 3D work -> https://youtu.be/3EMG2jGKkdw
Complete video going over a ton of info on best coding, dependencies, and signals for easy scalability (Highly recommend) -> https://youtu.be/yRHN_WEulLc
For those just starting out -> https://m.youtube.com/@PlayWithFurcifer/featured, https://m.youtube.com/@Gdquest/videos, https://m.youtube.com/@TheShaggyDev
Almost forgot one more, for starting out -> https://m.youtube.com/@BramwellWilliams
One set of videos I want to recommend that helped me get started with the engine is heartbeasts platformer tutorial. It was made for Godot 3 so if youre using 4 some things may have changed but as someone who wanted to start building platformers it really helped
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3WGFwCduY0&list=PL9FzW-m48fn16W1Sz5bhTd1ArQQv4f-Cm
https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/ The docs helped me a lot and still helping me.
And Godot community is vary supportive community so when I couldn’t find something i just ask here or in the discord server https://discord.com/invite/4JBkykG .
If anyone has a simple tutorial on getting started with the UI stuff (I’m specifically using Godot 4 in case that’s relevant), I’d be very grateful!
Currently struggling with the absolute basics like alignments and how to add padding and whatnot, I’m sure it’s simple but it’s inscrutable to an outsider 😅
