Y’know some people claim that Russia recently declaring all LGBT groups as terrorist organisations is because the LGBT support groups are all CIA plants.
This is not a justification for Russia obviously, whether or not the CIA plant thing is true persecuting your own country’s queer community is always wrong. I just find it interesting that people have no problem condemning Russia and pointing out that this is a bullshit justification for homophobia but with Israel calling into question the morality of “hamas allegedly hides among civilians so killing Palestinian civilians is justified” will have people compare you to Hitler.
I also find the “Hamas hides among civilians” justification interesting because… Where else are they supposed to go?
