We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to r/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, lets not drink alcohol!

I had a really great day, resigned from my current job to move to a more interesting one, resigned amicably which felt really good, and had a really great afternoon with my little 5y.o. boy

Also last night I caught up with some friends I hadn’t seen in like 10 years, it was amazing I love them so much, they had a quiet drink and it didn’t worry me it was just so nice to see them

    I wndwyt!

I started my journey to sobriety 3 years ago and never really made any leeway, but the seed was planted.

I’ve been more mindful of my alcohol consumption for about 2 months in which time I’ve only been drunk twice, yet have allowed myself to drink all that I want.

It’s been a crazy road of self discovery, and after a lot of soul seeking that goes back decades I finally realized what I was trying to escape from, and now I’m on the road to be the person I’ve always wanted to be, and I don’t even really want to drink because of how opposed to my goals it is in every way.

    It’s been crazy.
