    How is it that, in this day and age, people still freak out about solar eclipses? Hell, we’ve had two total eclipses in the US in the past 10yrs with one of them happening last year. Why now and not then?

    The article briefly mentioned it, but I want to say that the “eclipse tips” slide deck behind that loon is actually just decent preparedness and planning tips for every situation. From a rational perspective, every single town in the path of totality is going to be the busiest it’s been in decades. For people that live in and around those towns, you will need to plan ahead to account for traffic and cellular issues.

    Edit: I judged this article before I read it, it’s worth a read. It’s easy to do if you assume things about this article like I did

    Yeah, bullshit. People have been prophesying the end of the world practically since it started, and we haven’t had ONE apocalypse. With our luck, this shit’ll never end!
