Republican on top: “I drillled the hole!”
Democrat beside him: “If you vote for me, I’ll plug the hole!”
Voters and non-voters together at the bottom actively solving the problem.
Non-voters: “I don’t want to vote for this lazy ass”
Voters: “Noooo, please vote, or else Republican will drill more holes!”
(BTW I think you should vote to prevent more holes from being drilled. But Democrats don’t do enough. Biden was a president for almost a whole term now. Did he ensure basic human rights for trans people and trans kids specifically nationwide? Did he ensure basic human rights of pregnant women nationwide? Did he ensure the safety of doctors performing reproductive care? Did he penalize Israel for committing genocide? Did he enforce proper accountability for police discriminating against minorities (or, in that case, for any wrongdoings)? Doesn’t look like it to me. He did cap insulin prices for some, which is nice and a step in the right direction, but yeah, far from enough)
This entire comic is just a reiteration of the same divisive rhetoric that has long since kept us from consistently making positive change. The battle has always been the people vs the ruling class, and the best way to distract people from that has always been to focus one subset of the people against another subset of the people.
If you wanted an accurate comic, you’d need republicans and democrats together on a nearby megayacht shooting holes into the boat occupied by the entire American working class. Maybe republicans are shooting the majority of the holes, but the idea that the democrats are actually baling water is ridiculous.
At best democrats are like the cops that stand by while their coworker murders an innocent civilian, then stay quiet during the subsequent “internal investigation.” Sure, you should use your voting power to ensure they get in power over their gun-crazy friends, but don’t for a second believe real positive change will happen until we come together as an entire working class and force it to.
Seems pretty accurate. You just showed up and basically recited the “Dems aren’t doing enough” line.
The lack of self awareness in some leftists boggles my mind. C’est la vie, we had a good run.
Nah. The accurate depiction would be like this:
Republican on top: “I drillled the hole!” Democrat beside him: “If you vote for me, I’ll plug the hole!”
Voters and non-voters together at the bottom actively solving the problem. Non-voters: “I don’t want to vote for this lazy ass” Voters: “Noooo, please vote, or else Republican will drill more holes!”
