It is a bit awkward, having to shove all the foreign language communities into one topic. Ideally, topics would have a language setting in the same way that communities do and then people could see different topic trees depending on their language. Maybe one day. However the instance admin (myself, in the case of piefed.social) needs to manually assign communities to topics and I don’t know French (and German, and Portuguese, and Japanese, etc etc). So that’s tricky.
