The PC version of the Shadow of the Erdtree is seeing a nice discount ahead of its release.

I pass on 15 dollar dlc all the time because it’s too expensive. I’ve bought every dlc from soft has put out, and I will be buying this too because they deliver. They also have a good perspective on what should cost money and what does not. They launched some new stuff on Sekiro, free of charge because to be frank, it didn’t warrant a price point above 5-10 dollars imo.

DS3 had two dlcs launching at either 15/20 each, this dlc is going to have way more content than those combined, I think it’s warranted.

I’m not sure how you can be so confident in the amount of content in the DLC from only a small teaser trailer.

If they add more than half the base game in it, this is decent value, but that seems like an absurdly unprecedented effort.

I’ll agree that From Software hasn’t missed with a DLC yet, but this $40 price tag is eyewatering

This game is larger than most $60 games, I don’t think it’s even appropriate to base the cost on this. I’m also basing my statement on interviews with the games director. It’s been stated that this will be larger than limgrave, and it will be extremely dense. To me, that means this dlc will likely have about as much content as an entire souls game, given the amount of content.

To add to that, I base a game’s value on hours spent, the quality of those hours, and how that compares to other things you can buy and what they cost. I don’t absolutely know it will be worth it, but this company is extremely aware of their own reputation and what their customers want to see. They’re not going to risk that without justification, especially right after the announcement that after this, they will have the sole publishing rights to the elden ring franchise.

I think if this is all considered, you’ll be a bit more optimistic.
