• Fubo CEO, David Gandler, is unhappy about Comcast’s decision to exclusively stream an NFL Wild Card game on Peacock.
  • Fubo pays to air NBC, so the decision by Comcast creates competition between the two streaming platforms.
  • Peacock’s exclusive stream of the game reached 23 million viewers, making it the most-streamed event ever for the service.

I absolutely hate that sports, especially the NFL, is getting locked behind streaming services. Football is my favorite sport, but I will not pay to have every streaming service to watch games. I know I’m probably the outlier here. It’s decisions like this that will promote illicit streaming of the games. Take something that was free and put it behind a paywall and people will find a way to get it for free again.

I’m a believer of “illicit streams.” It gives you the ability to watch any game and you still see the ads, so to me it’s still revenue for them. They’re just getting super greedy.

I watched a stream in the UK to get those wildcards. Was it perfect? Nah, but it’s cheaper and you get way more bang for the buck.

It’s super frustrating that even paying for the NFLs super expensive service isn’t enough to watch your team’s games. It’s almost like they want people to pirate.

I found that my interest in football is directly correlated by how easy it is to access the games. If there is any friction I just won’t watch the games.

If it’s on a TV somewhere, and I am there, I’ll watch.

I used to watch all the time but I don’t have 3 hours to devote to each game where 2 hours and 45 minutes is talking heads or commercials and you make it hard to find? Nope.

The only football I’ve be watched this season was a few minutes of a Thursday night game because it was on prime.

Fubo is expensive but has almost every sport I want to watch. My in laws have it and it beats the premium cable packages for cost and convenience. Sorry to sound like an ad but if people have only seen fubo’s ads they might not realize that this is a streaming service that can be worth the money if you like all sports all the time. Fuck the peacock exclusive. Fuck the prime exclusive. Fuck the apple TV exclusive. Sports should be easy to watch!

I’m just waiting for us to go full circle where the majority are just listening to the radio for the broadcast about the game.
