As of July 1, these out-of-state licenses are no longer valid in Florida if the driver is in the U.S. illegally.

    • Delaware
    • Connecticut
    • Hawaii
    • Rhode Island
    • Vermont

How is DeSantis/Florida defining when a person is in the US illegally? Just by skin color?

Honestly, I was only in Florida once and I don’t ever want to go back. This asshole’s stunts just make sure I don’t change my mind.

Umm… Florida, I’m not entirely sure you can do that. I think you have to honor other States documents.

Ok, so if you are black or brown and am from

    • Delaware
    • Connecticut
    • Hawaii
    • Rhode Island
    • Vermont

don’t go to Florida. Especially in your own car. This is such an opportunity for the police to racially profile you.

Someone didn’t read the article… Nor the bill.

The new law prohibits the issuance of a driver’s license to anyone who does not provide proof of lawful presence in the U.S. and specifies that out-of-state driver licenses issued exclusively to illegal aliens are invalid in Florida.

Normal licenses are okay still for function… And this has nothing to do with traffic enforcement. This is all about not issuing NEW FL licenses based on the immigration license to people on simply the basis that they had an old license in another state, and that employers cannot simply assume someone is legal to work because they have a drivers license.

requiring law enforcement officers and authorized representatives of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to cite a person driving with a specified invalid license

Did you read the bill? This is in the first paragraph.

Well yeah, they’re going to cite you if you’re driving with an expired license from one of those states.

I agree it’s another way to profile though.
