Right… 🙄
There should be riots over this.
Police must be held to higher standards and should not be shielded from public scrutiny.
It’s not that simple.
My father in-law works in the prison system, we keep that quiet, my wife uses her mother’s name, having her dads face and name released to the public, could put my family in danger.
It could be the same for this cop.
Or, alternatively, he could just not drink and drive. Yes it is that simple.
Nah he was undercover, pretending to be a cop that thinks the he and his mates can do what they want without facing any consequences. He played this role a little too well.
Seriously tho, cops face a lot of stress/trauma/mental health issues in their jobs and alcoholism isn’t rare, and they very rarely injure anyone else (due to alcohol). They deserve a bit of compassion, especially considering if they seek proper mental health support that can be deemed unfit to work. And even if they do that their occupational insurance is likely to sick a private investigator onto them to try to avoid paying out
Everyone is equal, but some people are more equal than others.
if its good enough for Joe public its good enough for this tosser
I’m in two minds.
Mind 45%; could it result in the person and/or their family being targeted?
Mind 55%; yeeeah fuck that guy, double fucking standards, do the crime, so the time/public humiliation.
Who is going to worry about my family if I’m an idiot who gets arrested for DUI?
What do you mean by double standard? If it happened to me or you we wouldn’t be identified publicly.
Holding cops to a higher standard is admirable but there are plenty of examples of where they aren’t even held to the same standard so perhaps we should be fixing that first?
