Hello fellow KDE users! I use KDE Plasma on my tablet, but found windows managements a bit painful when using only the touchscreen, so I wrote this KWin script: it just organize automatically each window in a separate virtual desktop, maximized and borderless, allowing you to use the built in touchscreen gestures (3 fingers slide) to switch between them (animations are real smooth!)
I also released it on pling/kde store
Hope you’ll find it useful! Let me know your thoughts about this!
@tubbadu Sounds good 👍. Did you create a PR?
For now I only published it as a separate “addon”, do you suggest me opening a PR to the whole kde plasma project?
@tubbadu yes, because a Touchscreen is common device.
I’ll definitely try it on my laptop.
Let me know any problem or suggestion!
Excellent work you made there! I suggest adding a feature that allows users to switch between applications by pressing the Super key + the cursor button. This would be an incredibly useful and convenient feature for many users. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much for your feedback! I wrote this script aiming at touchscreen devices so I didn’t include any keyboard shortcut, but I may ampliate the target in the next versions!
Didn’t try this yet but sounds awesome ❤️
Thanks!
This is amazing. I just tried it and it works like a charm. Is there a way to conditionally enable/disable the script? I have a 2-in-1 laptop with detachable keyboard. It would be great to disable the script in laptop mode (when keyboard is present).
This is a wonderful idea! I’ll add it in the 2.0 version! Thanks for the feedback :D
