Why are we linking to “Stop Population Decline” and treating it like a real news site? Can we have some linking standards and not use random blog sites and advocacy groups?
Like the Financial Post?
Not to mention which standards?
Google News standards?
https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMNK8ngwwkdqvAw?ceid=US:en
Honestly, it looks like you can’t find fault in the article information, so you are making a respectability argument so you can attacking the source
Not to mention which standards?
A standard that involves two minutes of checking the About page and seeing if they are a news organization.
Google News standards?
Google doesn’t have standards. They only follow whatever makes them a profit.

I am ignoring the content of the article and pointing out a very common problem with !worldnews@lemmy.ml. There is a ton of disinformation, propaganda sites, and web sites that are specifically pushing some agenda.
And the first rule on this site is: “Please only post links to actual news sources, no tabloid sites, etc.”
Stop Population Decline is not a news site. It is a web site for specifically designed for pushing an agenda.
It is a web site for specifically designed for pushing an agenda
So does Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC, etc etc
Let alone that this site does publish news about Housing, Child Care, Paid Leave etc
Google doesn’t have standards. They only follow whatever makes them a profit
Except they have standards for their news aggregation service
https://www.searchenginejournal.com/how-to-get-listed-in-google-news/379701/
checking the About page
“We also to report on current events and news related to population decline while dispute false analysis about what causes population decline”
They still report on news about what they think related to their name
Antitrust news sites report about antitrust
Environment news sites reports on the environment
Etc etc
The link says Peter, why does the post say Philip?
In the newsletter they sent out, they issued a retraction and updated the title
The old link redirects now to the proper post now
