Sucks for the Sihks that are stuck in that country, unless you want to give them refugee status I don’t think this actually punishes India
Why should we cancel all Visas. Individual Indians had nothing to do with this, and many/most would condone the assassination. We have expelled the Indian diplomat, and more repercussions can be added as we learn more.
Students, workers, and travelers would be impacted greatly. Both the visiting Indians and those serving those people would be financially hit.
How about postponing new Visas?
It’s the usual response to one nation directly undermining the sovereignty of another. If this were my home country of Romania it would be a defacto déclaration of war under our laws. The fact that Canada is being so chill about a foreign power affecting Canadian internal affairs is actually surprising.
