Blue tweets are usually just people talking about crypto or shilling some fringe conspiracy. It is really is a useful metric for low value content.

That title reads like “x now let’s premium subscribers verify their real IDs”

Wouldn’t most people assume their ID is real? Or at least take it to their relevant government institution if they have doubts?

I think it’s more that the average “verified” Blue subscriber just paid money and provided contact info, without actually providing ID at all. Now they’ll also verify an actual ID, and put some additional identifier next to your check to make you “more trustworthy.”

In other words, more Elon nonsense.

edit: in some cases, people just buy already verified accounts from a third party service. It’s a total joke from a verification standpoint.

I see. Thank you! That makes a lot more sense. They make it sound like an “opt-in” feature as opposed to a new (old) requirement

yeah, they have no idea what they’re doing, just trying to scrape in $ however they can with Elon’s latest deep thoughts, from a base of inherently suspicious people.

I’m sure they just mean you can use your actual government issued identification card to verify your identity, but the US has a form of identification called REAL ID that we are slowly being required to be compliant with.

Blocking Twitter and X domains in your router is by far the better success. No longer accidentally find yourself on there.

I’m not there by accident. There are plenty of worthwhile people to follow there that aren’t anywhere else. It’s easy enough to filter out accounts you don’t want to be exposed to, see all the burns you want, and still not pay anything for it.

For a sub called enough Musk spam, it’s ironic you’re responsible for 90% of the Musk spam on my feed.

You guys should have gone with anti-musk circle jerk instead.

The article is old, but if it bothers you. You should block the community.

So you really are the dumb kind of person who complains needlessly about something even though he could solve his own issue at any time. Thanks for confirming, good riddance to you, your complaint has been noted.

              Still here?

Look, this whole community was created at the request of you whiners so that it could be easily filtered out by all of you, so you don’t have to see it.

But instead, you just keep bitching about it because for some reason you prefer to not block a community that you just consider to be spam, even though it was made to be blocked by you.

And somehow you think you’ll successfully shame anyone in here?

              You’re a moron. Cry harder.

I know guys like you struggle to read, but I literally already said I blocked the community already, so you’re sitting your pants over literally nothing.

And somehow you think you’ll successfully shame anyone in here?

Lmao, don’t worry no one is under the illusion you Musk obsessives have any sense of shame.

Also dude, look at how upset you’re getting over a comment on lemmy, get a grip.

Says the dude who replied back in the first place and is still whining because he was offended that two different people told him to take care of his own problem and just block the community if he had an issue with it. You have no high ground here. If you’re actually done with this, just stfu and be done with it.

It’s amusing that you’re commenting on others’ ability to read when you can’t even figure out why the community is named what it is, even after being given pretty clear context for it.

              Honestly, the dumbest logic:

whiners: “we don’t like seeing all these musk posts in technology, etc, could you please make a separate community for it so we don’t have to see it?”

community: “sure, no problem, that’s reasonable”

whiners: “I can still see all these musk posts because I don’t want to block communities, and I’m going to come in here and complain until maybe all of you just stop”

              community: “lol, fuck off, idiot”

                Still better logic than.

“We hate Elon Musk and how much he’s spammed, let’s make a community called ‘enough Musk spam’ where literally all we do is spam Elon Musk news!!”

Like come one, you HAVE to understand how stupid that is right?

No, it’s actually stupid that you’re unable to understand that the community is named after the common complaint phrase when elon-related material was posted everywhere else… “enough of this musk spam.”

It was named “enoughmuskspam” in honor of that phrase so you and every other ignorant twit might get the obvious clue that this is the community you want to block to avoid it.

It’s not that deep, yet you still don’t get it. That’s pretty sad on your account, dude.
