For real though, since I joined Lemmy (last Friday, 4 days into blackout) I probably spend as much daily time here as I spent there before blackout 😅 but I’m enjoying it !
It’s nice to see posts made by real people; this way (using Lemmy), you realize just how much bots’ crap is Reddit made of.
Agree. The lack of bots, sponsored posts and AutoMod comments are a breath of fresh air
oh man I do not miss scrolling past the thousand word automod essay on every freaking post. I kinda miss sorting by controversial though.
That reminds me of r/shitposting, there used to be a time where you could ruin an entire post and have like more than 50 replies of the autobot alone
My addiction is worse now.
Same here, it took me a while to figure out how Lemmy works, but I think I’m getting it. Honestly I can’t believe I haven’t found out about this before now. Go fediverse!
Me: I have to spend less time on social media.
Also me: Federation is right thing. Do not leave!Best way to fight an addiction is to get addicted to something else
oh I know… I’m so much more active here. It’s just a nicer atmosphere for engagement.
Excuse me, does anyone know how to delete someone else’s post? I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
Just kidding, I love it here.
The first few days were kind of tough; but once I started finding communities I liked, my feed got pretty nice.
I’m on kbin and yeah, this is my new home
Got to love the Fediverse, eh!
Mhm
LoL. I wasn’t really distracted by random subs on reddit. But on Lemmy. People are into flashlights???!!
I know! Thank God I’m not the only one. I’ve been seeing that community constantly while trying to figure out how to use Lemmy.
Indeed! This is where reddit goes to die, to paraphrase a great contemporary philosopher (/s/s/s, über/s, in case it’s needed)
Just to avoid scree time had after reddit blackout, I had uninstalled other social media apps as well. But got suck into Lemmy anyway.
Lemmy is the first platform I’ve come across that I’m actually excited to use in many years. Being federated and not motivated by profits (with all the tracking and selling of personal information that it entails) makes me feel like I’m not the product.
Hey, at least it’s not
crackredditWe’ve got to spend the time to help the place grow! (and other excuses)
