I great friend of mine passed away just over a year ago. His favorite band was Dr Hook, but I’d never heard of any of their songs, except “Cover of the Rolling Stones.”

After he died, I listened to one or two of their popular albums. I was surprised that his favourite band was a disco band. Ok, maybe they are not a disco band, but a lot of their songs have that vibe.

Anyway, I’ve since fallen in love with Sylvia’s Mother.

Edit: I forgot to add that he was 20+ years older than me, so Dr Hook wasn’t quite as popular when I was growing up.
