    Is doing different things in the same room something people with ADHD usually enjoy? I didn’t know

      It scratches a social itch, without any of the mental energy drain. It’s more of an Autism thing, but definitely overlaps with some introverted ADHD people.

      I think it might be more of an introverted thing happily enjoying someone else’s presence without interacting in any way or very little. You get peace of being free to do what you want without being alone.

      Although I am both introverted and have ADHD, so take that as you will.

      it’s not that we enjoy it but it helps being productive if someone is also being productive around you. see: body doubling.

      (unrelated but yes we also enjoy it.)

        Alternatively, my Autism side enjoys (silent) company for a different reason. Just the feeling of someone being there is kinda soothing, provided they understand that conversation really is optional in that situation.
